Rules and Voting

Moonwalk Competition 2024

Brought to you by the CU Space Minor

Rules

  • All work MUST be original, if it is not you will be eliminated from the competition
  • Everything must be school appropriate, nothing that you wouldn’t be okay showing to Ashleigh or Chris on a normal basis
  • All submissions need to be in the correct format, dictated by the specific categories below
  • You can submit up to 3 times to any of the categories
  • For all submissions: email to moonwalksubmissions@gmail.com with the subject line “FirstName_LastInitial_Title_Category”
    • If you would like to remain anonymous, please let us know in the email and your submission
    • Optional: any background information about the piece that you want people to know
  • We will take submissions starting now until APRIL 16 at 11:59! All winners will be announced during the Moonwalk event on APRIL 20th
  • Voting will open on APRIL 17th through the 20th. There will be last minute voting at the Moonwalk
  • Winners will be announced at the Moonwalk and we will email you directly to pick your prize.
    • There will be 8 winners(one for each category) and a People’s Choice Winner!

Categories

  • Written Work
    • Poems, short stories, etc
    • Please keep it to a maximum of 2 pages
    • Submit as pdf
  • 2D Drawing and Painting
    • Any medium as long as it is 2D
    • Submit with photo of your work as a png or jpeg
    • If you are submitting series please submit as one png or jpeg
  • 3D & Other
    • Any 3D medium
    • Sculpture of any kind, embroidery, etc.
    • Submit with photo of your work as a png or jpeg
    • If it is a moving piece, video is encouraged!–submit as a youtube link
  • Photography
    • Photos of anything you want! 
    • Add a small description of what it is, when/where you took it
    • Submit as jpeg or png 
  • Video
    • Comedies, educational, etc (Just show your creativity!)
    • Please keep videos under 5 minutes
    • Submit as a youtube or vimeo video link
  • Music
    • Singing, playing an instrument, composing, etc.
    • Video is encouraged so we can see you but not required
    • Submit as a mp3 file or youtube or vimeo link 
  • Costumes!
    • Costume category will be done at the Moonwalk-no need to submit anything just wear your best costume on April 23 and we will do a day of voting!
    • Wear your best costume!
